In fact Great Britain had to let the Japanese attack Pearl harbour even though we had Intel so that American would join the War.

?Mountains upon mountains worth of steel and material the US gave to the world to fight.?
Not the whole story, America used World War 2 to bleed Allied Europe dry for cash before deciding to employ morality. How would America feel if in the event of an invasion Europe decided to make a hefty profit before coming to your aid?

"No OTHER nation would have survived had the US staye isolationist. "
There would likely be no United States if the UK had decided to join Germany as they offered. America was the last in a long line of countries that stood their ground for far longer and with much greater losses. How long do you thing America deep in depression would have survived against a united European invasion?

Two sides to every coin here.

True, but then again, some responsibility has to be taken by the European countries at the time for letting WW2 happen -- the economic position Germany was put in that Hitler took advantage of, the appeasement of Germany by Chamberlain, etc.

We came in and did indeed help save the day, but most certainly the Europeans fought hard and suffered heavy losses. In my opinion, given my understanding of the polls back then, there were a lot of Americans who preferred isolationism and I think they are responsible for us not entering the war until we did. Had we entered it sooner, many, many lives would have been saved on both sides. I truly wish we had.

Also, boy was Churchill correct about Stalin's plans re: Eastern Europe and boy did FDR get suckered. FDR constantly ignored Chruchill's warnings and many lives were lost because of it. Also, it would have been a very different Cold War had the Soviets not come out of WW2 in such a strong position. Heck, we gave them money, arms, even B-29s!

In hindsight, some pretty poor decisions, IMHO, and a lot of people paid for those decisions
