I have a difficult time believing that each time they fix a bug or add a new feature and want to communicate that change to their customer base, everyone in their office is just sitting there being honestly confused and nervous about which step to take next, until some self-appointed alpha wolf steps up and proclaims "Ok guys, we all need to calm down and ask ourselves: What would Ed do??". These guys are professionals after all, they are the same people who gave us EQ and sent the first man into space.
I'm absolutely positive they have at least one backup plan for when Ed is not there. Is Ed back now, btw?
Everyone is continuing to do their daily work including patching test server. The only thing we haven't done is patch to live.
Ed is back now...a patch will be coming in the next few day as soon as we have a good build for live.
It's not a failure point, it's just the facts that we can get a large amount of work completed without having to patch to live for a week and we prefer to have the QA Manager here in full capacity when we do.
