to be completely honest, i remember the flame wars about TLC from beta 3? and i thought that the final decision was that TLC was not going in, that the tagging system was implemented in such a way to combat farming and allow lower level players first preference on loot... but it obviously is in full force since we just killed Tajiihosk 5 minutes ago and got a green earring for our trouble...

Eddited to add... guildmates tested on a random 6 dot and got a rare drop, does this form of TLC only affect Heroic+ items and specially flagged items? would be super nice to know what situations are a waste of time...



At the moment, yes, heroic+ is affected by TLC. As a result of this lack on our part to effectively communicate when TLC is in effect, some discussion has started about the mechanic and how we provide feedback. I won't go into any more specifics until we know for certain, but it is being looked at.

Also, I gave the TLC on glowing aqual orbs some thought, and I'm going to remove it for the time being. If it becomes an actual issue that higher level players are farming for these orbs I'll revisit the issue, but at least for the time being it won't be, and I'm no longer certain that it should even be a concern.
