When we make a specific server with an alternate ruleset for RP it will most likely start from scratch (e.g. new server).

Eventually, yes. I don't have the timing yet on when server transfers will be set up -- sorry.

Yes, post launch. Most of you know how I loved and got the FV server going on EQ, so such a server has a special place in my heart.

We have a bunch of PvP server rulesets. Unless someone else has posted what they are, I don't think we're quite ready to do so.

Not any time soon.

Likely post-launch you will have a certain amount of levels where you can, but then after that level you won't be able to.

Yes, but nothing drastic. Many of the issues with animations are due to low FPS on some machines. Basically, all of the animation frames aren't being able to be played.
5. Can we expect instrument animations?
At some point yes, but not in the near future.
6. Will there be more 'jobs' like cooking and fishing?
Eventually yes.
7. Racial specialties?
The plan is to get this in before launch and then continue making them more in-depth.

Still not sure yet, but 5000+ is likely.

Around 18, but this may change. It depends on pre-sales and we don't have those final numbers yet.

Damn proud of the game, but yes, I wish we had more time to polish. But you have my word that we will continue to work post-launch to make this game everything it should be. But the game at launch is going to be a good game. Our job is to continue after launch and make it an even better game, and that we will do.
2. Are you happy with your decision to go with SoE as publisher? Have they been fair with you? Have they provided you with the resources/time necessary to realize "the vision"?
Yes. They've given us as much time as they were able to. As I said, I wish we had more, but financial realities are just that. Vanguard is the most expensive game to-date other than WoW and I am very appreciative of how much funding and time (essentially the same thing) that we have been given. One can always wish for more time with an MMOG, but at the same time these games are not 'fire and forget' -- they continue to grow and improve after launch and we are dedicated to keep going and make this great game even greater.
3. Will marketing of Vanguard continue post launch?
I don't have the details right now, but in general yes.

Yes.

Likely so. If not by launch, soon after.

4. How are ships/flying mounts restricted in terms of travel?
They can traverse probably 90+% of the of world. Only in areas where a mount or ship of any time would allow you to bypass content and then obviously in dungeons are you restricted. This is decided by game designers according to their work, btw, not the engine -- the engine would allow 100% of the world to be traversed by mounts and flying mounts and any water area to be sailed. The restrictions that exist and will be tweaked as the game progresses and is refined are placed by the design team to make for a better game.
5. How will auction houses and player vendors differ in a way that does not cause the player vendor to be redundant?
Player vendors will be integrated into auction houses. Really, the auction system is there to take away tedium -- it is NOT meant by any means to hurt player run vendors when they are fully implemented.
-Player/Guild Housing-
1. Will player cities use special plots, or will it start from a pack of closely built houses?
Both. When we implement player cities, certain buildings will require special plots, but those plots will be placed in and around regular housing plots. For example, town halls, guild halls, shared crafting areas, and much more.
2. Are any changes being planned for guild tools and UI?
The entire UI will continue to be modified to be more user friendly and informative and also we're already starting to see players use XML to make their own UIs.
3. Are any forms of unique guild representation, such as logos and/or flags planned?
Yes, post launch.
