Without him meleeing (especially at the end) they would have lost much more quickly. I love that this video has a cleric landing the final blow with melee!


While the added damage is a nice bonus, if you look at the tooltips for the abilities I was activating, you can see the real reason I (and all clerics in Vanguard right now) melee.

First, the ability you mentioned, Replenishing Strike. Hitting an NPC and getting mana/energy back for doing so is great. Second, the two step chain (fist/hand) I was doing. The finishing attack for that is a stun in addition to damage, and stunning the NPC is a great way to prevent it from doing damage.

Of course, now that everyone has seen me heal like that, I may never get in another group as a healer again. ;-)
